Catch up and Farm Fun

The weekend after Memorial weekend, my mom had Garage Sale. It turned out great! We had a lot of people show up through the day and got rid of a lot of stuff! I brought a bunch of desserts to sale and did a pretty good job too. By the end of the day my kids were really getting into it and handing out fliers to people as soon as they got out of their cars. It was pretty cute. I sold almost everything that I brought and made some nice change. It was a lot of fun!

The next weekend, June 11-13 was a busy one too. The 11th and 12th were our Ward Campout, which we had up at the farm. A good friend of mine from our ward came up with me, and all of our kids. to get dinner started. We made chili and let it cook all day in the dutch ovens. We'd only been up there for about 5 minutes when Grace came running through and tripped over a little stump in the ground. She landed right on her left wrist and it hurt, a lot! I, being the horrible mom that I am, had just started getting food set up and ready to cook. I looked at her arm and wasn't sure if she broke it....it wasn't obviously broke. I made a sling for her and set her in the pickup to rest. She did that for quite awhile. Her grandpa showed up and he wrapped it nicely with some horse wrap and that did the trick for her, she was off and running again. I didn't think too much about it for the rest of the day.....horrible, I know! After we got done with the campout, and all packed and ready to head home, I decided that I needed to take her in to the Dr. and have it checked, just in case. She'd been doing really well, other than waking up in the middle of the night telling me that it hurt.....but I didn't have anything that she would take, so she went back to sleep. Anyway, I dropped the kids off at the house and Grace and I headed into the Dr.'s office. Well sure enough, she had a buckle break in both of her bones by her wrist. So another cast we got! But, luckily(I think) I know the front receptionist and she told me about swimmers casts! I had never heard of them before! I was so excited because the kids had swim lessons in two weeks that had already been paid for! Grace was able to get a cast that she could get wet and swim in.

That Sunday my Sister and her husband and kids were in town so Mom got all the food ready and we headed up to the farm on Sunday for a family barbeque. It was the perfect day for kite flying, and the kids did a lot of that!

These girls were having so much fun being silly together!

Hahahahaha! I just had to put up this beautiful picture of my baby sister! MWAH!

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend was a great one this year. It was cold.....but it didn't snow! We had lots of family and friends come up. It was just a great weekend!

This one made me laugh! Gary was moving dirt around with the skid steer and totally dumped it all over himself! He was buried in there! It was really funny to watch!
The big thing this weekend was roasting things! Brandi and Jason and their kids came up and hung out with us a couple of the days and we introduced Jas to roasting starbursts. He loved it! After that, he wanted to roast anything and everything! Between him and the kids, they roasted starbursts, tootie frooties(the fruity tootsie rolls), a regular tootsie roll, a piece of fried chicken to heat it back up, pineapple and a cheese filled jalapeno. It was very entertaining to watch them scour the campsite for new things to roast over the fire.
That weekend my cousin had her open house and they were kind enough to employ me. So I made 180 cupcakes for them and had to run home and deliver the cupcakes and come help set them up. They turned out really cute! I had free reign with how they looked, so I had fun with them. Some had a cream cheese frosting, which isn't the greatest for decorating. The rest had a buttercream frosting, which is for decorating! Regardless, they were all yummy!
My sister Jess came up camping and brought her friends Michelle and Dan and they had their son, his girlfriend and one of his buddies. They were so much fun! Here's Jess playing frisbee with the kids.
Jess had so much fun with Addi and Em. They were trying to eat marshmellows and making a mess out of themselves, but loving every minute of it!
Jess with her friends Dan and Michelle and Sierra and the back of Grace's head. It was nice to hang around a roaring campfire.....keeps you nice and toasty on a cool night!
Emma was all tuckered out!!
Agh....how'd that picture of me get here! ;)
Joe thinks he's a rockstar!

There were some extra cupcakes leftover from the open house, so my mom brought them up and everyone enjoyed them......some a little more than others.....*cough* Jas *cough*
Gary making another sign....this one is in honor of my dad. It says Wind and Elevation. It was something my dad would say a lot while hunting, but it wasn't always a hunting reference, it was used a lot as a life reference too. While you're hunting, you have to take in account the wind and elevation before you shoot to make sure you get the straight line you're looking for. It's the same in life. The wind is always trying to blow you off course and you have to know where you are and where you are going to try to keep on the straight and narrow.
My adorable nephew......Noah....aka "Tank"
The kids had this awsome hole they had been digging. They made themselves a bench in it and everything. They spent a lot of time in this hole!
Jason was teaching Gary how to play Cowboy......um, I don't remember what it's called at the moment, but it was very entertaining. Basically you get a long rope and tie the ends so it's a big circle. The guys wrap it around their feet and hold onto the rope. They then kick their legs out and try to knock the other guy down first. You can see who won!
We ended the weekend with sparklers, thanks to Brandi! This kids loved it! It was such fun....good food, good friends, good conversations. Thanks to everyone who came!

End of the year Dance Program - May 27th, 2010

Joe and Grace had their End of the Year Dance Recital on Thursday, May 27th. It was so much fun to watch them and all of the other dancers! Their teachers do such an amazing job! They go to Front & Center Dance in Rigby and we Love it! The kids both did an amazing job. They each had 2 dances to perform.

The pics aren't great. We were sitting in the back of the auditorium and between zooming in and the glare of the lights on the stage the pics aren't great. But it's okay, I have better pics from other performances.
Miss Grace did a great job as usual! She always has a big smile on her face while she's dancing. Even if you can't see it here, I know that on the other side of her is a big smile!
It was a fun time! Grace and Joe are both doing Hip-Hop together this next season and Emma gets to start in her own dance class too. They are all excited and Joe is already asking me when dance starts again.
