Grace's Teeth

So last week Grace tells me that she has a hole in her mouth. I was not sure what she meant so I asked her to show me. When I looked, she didn't have a hole in her mouth, she had a permanent tooth coming up behind her baby teeth on the bottom. She hadn't lost any baby teeth at all yet, so up it came anyway.
So we finally got her into the dentist yesterday. They took some x-rays to see how bad it really was. It turned out that her baby teeth still had all the roots on them and her other front permanent teeth were ready to come up. So the verdict was in.....all 4 of her front bottom teeth have to come out!

So she finally lost 4 baby teeth and got her first visit from the Tooth Fairy.....but the Tooth Fairy will be paying for those 4 teeth for awhile! Oh well, at least they did tell me that if we can keep up with her teeth we can probably keep her out of braces! That would be so nice! You know what they say, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" - Benjamin Franklin

Cooper's bottom two permanent teeth came in before his baby teeth fell out too. We just waited though, and they finally fell out and the permanent ones moved forward. The dentist later said it's kind of a chance you can take... sometimes it works, sometimes not. Looks like Grace's wouldn't have! Roots and all!

Niki, my oldest had the same problem! He ended up in braces anyway, but not because of his bottom teeth, they turned out pretty well. She looks too cute!

Congrats Grace. I hope the tooth fairy treated you well with goods. (Hint....Hint).
This will be a event that she will remember going to the dentist and having 4 teeth pulled out. Ugh.
