I LOVE GIRLS CAMP! This year was so much fun. I loved being a leader for the first year girls. It was such a wonderful, spiritual experience and I can't wait to do it again. We went to Camp Cumorah and it was just beautiful up there. The new lodge is so nice and all the bathrooms and showers....well, lets just say the girls loved them and appreciated them very much!

We had the BEST stake leaders. They had so many wonderful things for the girls to do and when they did their skits they were so hilarious and entertaining. They also knew when we needed to Spirit to be there and were amazing when it came to that. Here is the hill that we hiked up a few dozen times a day back and forth to our campsite. We definitely got our exercise in that week! My butt and legs felt the burn!

Here are the girls working on their tent flags and doing a couple of crafts. We kept them pretty busy the whole time we were there. Gave them less of a chance for the drama to begin! ;)

At the end of the relay the girls were given big marshmellows, white napkins, skewers and a few other things to make a temple. Up above the 5th years were very creative turning one of them into a temple to show that her body is a temple. I loved that one. All of the other temples were great too. The girls were able to add anything to it that they had in their campsite. I saw flowers, gummies made into the Angel Moroni and all sorts of creative ideas.

Our "lunch ladies" were so amazing!! They made great food everyday, had a theme with all the meals and dressed up all the time! They did such a great job....and I can sympathize with them because I did that 4 years ago. I know how much work goes into what they do! I thank them from the bottom of my heart!

So on Wednesday night we had skit night. The stake leaders went first and were SO funny dressed up as dancing hippos! Then the Y.W. leaders that came up to help did one. They did the Emergency Test Signal....then freaked out when they found out it wasn't a test! Very creative considering they didn't know they had to do a skit till that afternoon!

On Thursday the girls did a craft and rotated through some classes with the stake. It stormed pretty good that day on and off. Later we gathered to get ready for the stake to give us their spiritual presentation that they had for us to go with the theme. The theme was "Journey to the Center of Your Worth". Each year had a different shoe to represent their part of their journey they were going on. It was really great.

First we had to do our cheers at the end of the day and the Priesthood holders did one....they were so funny. They marched up their with their chairs, took their positions, sat down and then fell asleep. :) There is a picture of the wonderfully talented ladies that presented us with the fireside before we broke off for our group testimony meetings.

Here we are going to squish into the leaders tent for testimony meeting. It started raining so we moved from around the fire to kinda inside. It was such a wonderful experience. Most of the girls bore their testimony and the spirit was so strong. We'd had a lesson earlier to help our first years figure out what their testimony really is, and not just the regular things that the kids always say when they are little...repeating what everyone else is saying. We really encouraged them to dig deep and figure out what they really believed in. Also we talked about how to recognize the spirit, and I know the after that testimony meeting most of them really knew how to recognize the spirit within themselves. It was such a blessing to be their with them and experience their testimonies and spirits.

Here's a sideways picture of our "mailbox". Each of the girls had a secret sister and were encouraged to leave a note for her everyday. It was a big hit. The first night we split up into wards for Ward Night.

Hangin' out! Here is our Wonderful Bishop and 1st Counselor...they came up and cooked us an awsome dinner. They are amazing men!!

After dinner we gathered around the camp fire and played some fun games. Some of us had a hard time keeping a straight face!

That morning the girls went on their hike for a couple of hours. When they got back we had a treat for them. We warmed up water and added oils and bath salts to it and had a little manicure kit for all of them. They were able to soak their feet and paint their nails. They loved it! So after lunch, they had the relay and then some free time. So us leaders took advantage of the free time and went to soak our feet. It felt so good....the water had cooled off that it felt nice on that hot day. I sure love these ladies! They are all awsome, spiritual ladies that I'm so priviledged to call my friends.

The first years did an awsome one about a little bee thinking she wants to be famous, but decides that she wants to do other meaningful things with her life. It was kinda like a soap opera with commercials too. We were able to use all the girls and they did so good. Then the cooks came out and embarassed the husband of one of them. Usually he embarasses her, but she was able to get him back this time and it was oh so funny!
