Thankful #2-I am so Thankful for my oldest child Sierra. She is such a great source of light in our lives. I'm SO grateful that she is my first.....she has made it pretty easy to be a parent so far. It's almost like she's patient with us, letting us sort of work our way through parenthood and figure it out without necessarily having to just dive in.

She is beautiful and kind, smart and funny. She likes to dress up in nice clothes but loves to get down and dirty in her jeans....especially if there are horses involved. She's adventurous, but not too much!

She is a voracious reader! She loves it! She always has some novel or another that she reads way too quickly. Some of her favorites are the old series like Little House on the Prairie or Anne of Green Gables. She also loves finding new books and sharing them with me and her friends. A lot of them will ask her for suggestions in the school library because she's almost read all that they have to offer there.

She is kind and beautiful.....inside and out. She radiates with that inner celestial beauty. She'll stand up to bullies for her younger/smaller friends. She's not afraid to be her own person. I think that her size(she's already 5' 8" and wears a 9/10 women's shoe) really gives her and empowerment, to make it easier to stand up to those who would try to lead her the wrong way.

I just hope and pray that she keeps going down the path she seems to be headed. I know that with the teenage years banging on our door things could change at any time. But I really try to talk to her about my own decisions that I made at her age and really hope she learns a little from the trials I went through. So far she seems to be soaking them in. I just really hope that we can keep communicating as freely as we are now. All of her friends love me so far and think I'm the cool mom.....hopefully she does too! There are many advantages to being a young parent!

I'm so proud of her and love her so much! Thanks Sierra for all that you are to me!
